Family Crest Project
Introduction

For this project I wanted to incorporate different aspects of my heritage but still have a simple, sleek idea. It needed to incorporate what our background nationality was but also have symbols to give the crest a lot of meaning to my family.

Critique
Mainly people pointed out the weird line on the outer parts of the cross. It was asymmetrical so I needed to go back and clean up my work a little better. They also said the star needed to be slightly smaller because it covers a large portion of the crest.
Final
Presentation
For this crest, I wanted it to represent different aspects of what the Monson family was. Our ancestry was originally from Norway, therefore I used a Norse shield design to give a reminiscent look of that. The Gold portion of the shield was designed after the book of Kells and other Norse scripture. It has a distinctive weaving pattern. The white cross stands for Christianity and the white star stands for the northern star and always finding a way forward. Lastly the rope stands for a family of hard workers and labors.
